Competition Between Google’s Rank Brain And SEO Brain

Have you noticed any changes in searches lately?

A year earlier Google launched much advanced algorithm that, it claims, is quite superior compared to other manually-tuned algorithms. Google has been trying to guide you to its machine based algorithm, “RankBrain”. Ever since it was launched, Google has been saying that the algorithm has been control of things and improving user experience.

SEO gurus around the world, including SEO marketing Toronto services, have noticed these changes, but one group still says it’s certainly not what they had expected from Google after all those years of innovation and advancements. In fact, majority of business owners have complained about the decline in search quality for particular searches.

SEOBrain

If you think SEO is dead, it actually has the new identity, the SEOBrain. Over the years SEO efforts have been putting Google under a lot of challenges. In fact Google leadership always considers SEOBrain as a continuous threat to Google’s success.

It’s basically a foolproof code meant to publish a content for high ranking on search engines. It’s not an artificial intelligence. It’s a product of human mind with limitless capabilities. So, what are the chances of RankBrain – the piece of artificial intelligence against a combination of thousands of human brains out there?

Google loses from clever SEO

Human SEO has always been on top of Google and that’s not a bad thing. Google acknowledges it and therefore, hires a team of brilliant minds to break those SEO myths.

Eventually, Google has to deal with them via manual intervention when it gets close to losing the battle. Isn’t it distasteful displaying results with manual intervention, after having spent so much on algorithms and all?

What You See is Brand Result

Google want people to get sanitized, stale and Big Brand results for search queries, when we need interesting, fresh and smart results. Decayed pages meant high revenues for Google. At the same time, interesting and fresh results were not as predictable.

Ever since people shifted their attention towards social or 3rd party platforms, such as Twitter and Facebook, it was enough to puzzle the search engine. These platforms are direct competitors of Google.

If Google was to ensure corporate revenue, it had to stop innovation at all cost. So it adopted the following:

  • Guidelines were established to suffocate innovation
  • Penalty system was developed to tie up fresh minds
  • Ranking systems changed
  • Blogs were given importance and assigned special management
  • Established websites were given power to handle volatile SERPs

All what Google has been looking for is stability, but it didn’t know the way. That’s because controlling dynamically changing web is not in control of Google.

Web Spammers

When Google couldn’t stop innovation, it began to hire humans to do it. It invested heavily in tools that were meant to be used by thousands of team members. The purpose of WeSpam and QualityRater teams was to penalize content, so that it cannot get ranking. The main focus was to sacrifice quality and maintain its paid customers on front page.

These quality raters and so-called spam fighters were assigned a task to prevent good content from getting the ranking. They do so clicking through tasking orders provided by Google. It gives algorithm the signal to rate the webpage as risky.

To sum it up, until search customers are as fool as machines, RankBrain will be outsmarted by SEOBrain. The reason is SEO’s out there follow what the people want and Google’s algorithms just monetizes it.
